John Lyons Education Studio (JLES)
The JLES is a workshop space belonging to the National Theatre’s Learning Team. It is located at the National Theatre Studio – a short walk from the National Theatre, located next to the Old Vic on The Cut.
Venue specifications
The JLES is 8m x 9.6m. It has large windows, with anti-glare and blackout blinds for presentations. It’s fully accessible with ramp access and also has a private kitchen and toilets. The opening hours are 10am–6pm.

Front of house foyers and auditoriums
Our versatile ground and first-floor foyers at the National Theatre offer flexible event spaces with capacities of up to 800 guests across several spaces. Bars are available, and a variety of set-ups are possible to suit your event’s unique requirements.
Exclusively available on a select number of days throughout the year, our auditoriums form the perfect backdrop for show-stopping presentations and award ceremonies.
Olivier Theatre: Our largest auditorium seats up to 1,150 in an amphitheatre style.
Lyttelton Theatre: A traditional theatre setting seating 890 people across two levels, perfect for impactful presentations.
Dorfman Theatre: This flexible blackbox theatre can seat up to 450 people across three levels, offering creative possibilities for unique event setups.
